| Customers who pay on time will receive 2.5% cash back. On-time means 25% paid at the time the order is placed and the other 75% paid on or before delivery. Boat Trial Option |
| Short-term trials usually last from
a couple days to a couple weeks. The customer makes a 25% fully-refundable
bond payment on the boat, which also reserves the boat for the customer
until the trial. (Note: the cheque is cashed and is refunded within
2 weeks of the return of the boat or credited to the purchase price.)
Damage Liability. Trials automatically carry a damage/loss liable to $1,000 , which is pulled from the bond. The customer has the option to buy insurance from Sykes NA at 1.2% of the boat's value to cover all damage over $250. Insurance must be bought before picking up the boat. |

Lease Option (new) |

We're now offering a straight-out lease options for customers. These long-term rentals do not come with the special buy-out option that our rent-to-own programme does, but it does meet the cash flow contraints that many clubs have by reducing the bond requirement up front and allowing to spread out payments over longer terms. Lease options come in either seasonal terms or annual terms; varying in length from one school season to two years. There is a bond requirement and the leasee is required to show proof of insurance with no more than a $500 deductible. Check out the Lease Rate Table for examples of monthly rates and bond requirements for each class of boat. Contact Tom at Sykes NA for exact estimates given that prices vary for used-boat leases and boats made of other construction types. |
NOTE: We may not be able to meet all lease requests because of limited inventory and the need to meet sales requests. |

If the customer decides to buy a new Sykes other than the RTO boat, 50% of the RTO is applied toward the purchase price. | One of the benefits to Sykes NA customers further afield in North America is that they can often rent boats from us for various important regattas. We've been doing this service for years, and are now offering a 50% off for folks who own Sykes boats of the same boat class as the one they wish to rent. Regatta rentals are 2.6% of the boat's price for the whole regatta, no matter how long or short. Existing Sykes owners get the same boat for 1.3% of the boat's price. |

Sykes NA offers payment plans for those customers who cannot or prefer not to pay cash for their boat on delivery. The payment plan is a service and so it's not quite like traditional financing. How it works is that the customer puts a down payment on the boat and then pays a service fee on the amount still owed. The service fee is calculated as a percentage, and that amount varies by the term of the payment plan. The customer then makes equal quarterly payments at the beginning of each quarter for the length of the term. For example: $15,000 boat with a $5,000 down payment. The customer chooses an 12-month payment plan for the remaining $10,000. The service fee is 7.5%, so the customer pays $750 along with the down payment on the boat. The customer will then pay $2,500 at the beginning of each of the next four quarters starting with the next quarter. |
